Teacher Workshops in Hawaii
Dr. Hunt with puppets

I have a large collection of puppets related to language arts, literature, holidays, environmental studies and other curriculum areas which I use in my workshops. Rhymes, finger plays, folk tales, and songs come to life when I put on my many apron stages and entertain teachers, librarians and recreation leaders. Among the educators I have in serviced in Hawaii are those from the State Library Services, the Division of Special Education, and the Association for the Education of Young Children.

National and International Workshops for Educators
A puppet workshop in Alaska

I have in-serviced educators across the United States with workshops that last anywhere from 4 hours to 3 days. Everyone enjoys watching the apron stage presentations, learning how to manipulate puppets and developing lip sync skills. My make 'n take approach means that teachers can walk into their classrooms or libraries the next day and start using their puppets.

Guest Directing
Adventures in a Garden

During my many years as a theatre director I have used puppets of all sizes and shapes in main stage theatrical productions. Hand puppets, rod puppets, marionettes and giant puppets have been integrated with live actors to create exciting visual effects for Hawaii audiences. I bring this experience as a guest director to give universities and community theatres a unique opportunity to explore new and innovative theatrical techniques.
