Schools

I have been an Artist in Residence in many schools locally and
internationally and have worked with all ages from grades K-12. I enjoy developing classroom curriculum by integrating puppets into art, language arts, literature, math, science, or social studies, to name a few. The child's natural love of puppets creates enthusiastic and meaningful learning experiences! Here students cheerfully display their sock puppets!

Libraries

I have conducted workshops for many librarians in the state of Hawaii and also created make 'n take after school events for children. My apron stage presentation of songs, poems, stories and books, followed by "hands on" activities is a delightful experience which promoted community involvement for the whole family. Here children at Fairbanks Library, Alaska make quick 'n easy elephants to take home.

Children's Puppet Shows

I believe there is a place for puppets in every child's life! Because children are natural puppeteers when they have a puppet on their hand, I included puppetry as a major Component for the elementary grades when I wrote the Drama and Theatre Standards for the State of Hawaii Department of
Education. Puppetry activities enhance self concept, encourage language development and build social skills. Here is the makings of a young puppeteer.
